Nature

Flower I can’t remember what this flower is. This photo was taken at Leicester botanical gardens that are run by the University of Leicester.
It’s petals have a ‘tissue paper’ quality and therefore looks quite delicate.
Poppy This is a red poppy. This photo was taken at Leicester botanical gardens that are run by the University of Leicester. I visited these gardens on a field trip in June 2008, it was organised by my tutor Rocio Alarcon.
The head of this poppy was approximately 6 inches in diameter.
I love this photo for the vibrant red and the contrasting dark stamen inside.
Alium Ooopppsss ! I can’t remember much about this picture or the subject. If there are any horticulturists out there you might be able to help.
Leaf This leaf picture was again taken at the botanical gardens in Leicester. I love the colours that make up this leaf and I only used natural light to get this affect.
Leaves This is Melisa officinalis taken from the top of the plant. I had a really strong feeling from this plant whilst just looking at it one day in my garden. I decided that it wanted me to take a photo of it.
I love the texture captured so clearly in this photo and the various shades of green that give this photo depth.
Dandelion This is one of many dandelions that used to be present in our garden. Now, we don’t have many that get to this stage as the flowers are fed to our four guinea pigs. Leaves are still plentiful though!!!
Bean This is a runner bean flower. I was taking photos of the bees flying on and off each flower busily collecting the pollen. Unfortunately the bee photos weren’t great.
Frosty Sage This was taken in the Winter of 2008/09. The winter was a hard one with plenty of snow. This photo is of Sage with a heavy frost on it. I love the contrast between the green leaves and the white of the frost. The whole photo has a stillness to it that can’t be described.
Driftwood Taken at a beach in Pembrokeshire. A lonely branch just lying there!
