Welcome to my creative site
This site has been created for no particular reason except pure self indulgence! I love photography. I can’t draw or paint (although I do occasionally dabble) so my creative side is channelled through my lens.
I began to experiment with photography in about 1988 thanks to my good friend Andy, who is also a photography hobbyist. In those days I started with an Olympus OM1 and this was my camera for many years. Now I own a Cannon 400D and love it. My manual Olympus has long gone and I welcome and love the new age of digital photography.
I am not going to go into all the technical data of each photo. I don’t want to bore you or sound nerdy, so as far as equipment info is concerned, apart from the camera body, I use:
- 18-55mm lens
- 70-300mm lens
- Various close-up lenses
- Polarising filter
- Skylight filter
- Remote shutter release
- Tripod
All photos are shot in raw format and then adjusted as required in various computer programmes. I have to admit at this point that my computer skills are not brilliant; so I leave my precious photos in the capable hands of my computer wiz of a husband, Pat. We normally sit together and go through each photo, discarding what is rubbish and tweaking what is good. You see here some of the best photos I have taken.
I have also added some little stories of how each photo came about. For photography is mostly about being there at the right time and right place with camera in hand. How many opportunities I have lost due to not having my camera!
I do not like my photos manipulated too much and so the photos you see on this site have had very little added or taken away from them. I like things that way - in its purest form.
I like my subjects to be natural. So you will find lots of photos of horses, dogs and of course, nature. I have taken all the photos for the Brynaherb and Crystal Healing Tools websites. Some of the photos now need to be updated and be of better quality. This is something I constantly work upon as nature is my guiding light and I have to be ready when she is.
Please enjoy my photos. I welcome any feedback.
